Here's how simple it is
We bring the hens, the coop, the feed, and everything else right to your backyard. We set it up and walk you through it. You collect eggs, the kids fall in love, and in the fall we come pick it all up. That's the whole thing.
How It Works
1. We deliver & set up
Hens, coop, feed, waterer, feeder, care guide—all of it. We set it up and walk you through everything on delivery day.
2. You enjoy fresh eggs all summer
Expect 8–14 eggs per week. The kids help collect them. You make the best scrambled eggs you've ever had.
3. We come back in the fall
When the season ends, we pick up the coop and hens. No long-term commitment. No wondering what to do with chickens in January.

FAQ
How much does it cost—and is it worth it?
Packages start at $495 for the full 6-month season—hens, coop, feed, delivery, setup, support, and pickup all included. We have 8 coop styles at different price points and we'll help you find the right fit. A $50 deposit holds your spot, and we offer payment plans as long as you're paid in full by delivery day.
Is it a lot of work?
Less than you think—and much less than a new dog. There's no training, no walks, no hourly attention. The daily routine is simple: move the coop to a fresh patch of grass, fill food and water (about three minutes), and collect the eggs. Most families say it becomes the best part of their morning.
Do I need any experience with chickens?
None at all. We walk you through everything on delivery day and leave you with a care guide and a copy of Fresh Eggs Daily by Lisa Steele. Questions during the season? Just call us.
What kind of chickens will we get?
We focus on temperament first—not breed. We have more than 10 breeds on the farm plus all our barnyard mixes, and what matters most to us is that the flock gets along and that every hen we send out is social, friendly, and calm with families. Most of our customers are surprised by how much personality chickens have. They'll have names within the first 24 hours.
Do I have to clean the coop?
A quick tidy-up once a week keeps things fresh—and honestly, most families enjoy it. There's something satisfying about pampering your hens. Our coop designs keep the chicken keeper in mind, so cleaning is straightforward and takes about 10-15 minutes. We show you exactly how on delivery day.
What about predators?
Our coops are predator-resistant-built, and the setup we show you on delivery day addresses this directly. The key is simple: your chickens are only outside when you're outside. We call it supervised free-range time—and it's actually optional. When they're in the coop, they're protected. In years of rentals, predator losses are rare.
What if we go on vacation?
Up to 3 days, just fill food and water before you leave—they'll be fine. For longer trips, a neighbor can check in, or bring the hens to us. We'll chicken sit for $25 per week (first week included with some packages).
Will my dog or neighbors be a problem?
Probably not. We have a system for introducing dogs to the hens—it works so well the dogs are sometimes upset when we come to pick up the coop. As for neighbors, hens cluck gently. They don't crow. That's roosters.
Is it hard to get them back in the coop?
Not at all—and it gets easier every time. Chickens quickly learn that the coop is their home. They're also easily treat trained, and we send a bag of treats home with you on delivery day to help you from the start. Supervised free-range time is optional, and when you do let them out, rounding them up is usually as simple as shaking the treat bag.
What if a chicken dies or gets sick?
We replace hens free of charge within our delivery area, as long as the cause wasn't neglect. If a chicken gets sick, give us a call—we support your birds all season long.
Do we have to give the chickens back?
No—you can adopt them at the end of the season, with or without the coop. Some families keep them. Some chicken out. Either way, we're not judging.
