Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign up for your CSA?
Our weekly Farmer Harvest Program is a local favorite. We open new enrollments in October each year. We process memberships on a rolling basis through https://farmerjoesgardens.localfoodmarketplace.com/Subscriptions.
Locations, pick up times, and add-ons are limited. Current options are listed under locations during signup.
How do I customize my farm share?
Each week, we build a base share using the freshest produce we’re harvesting from the fields—and then you get the chance to make it your own!
Once we’ve published the base share assigned to you, you’ll receive an email letting you know it’s ready to customize. From there, you can log in and make swaps based on what’s available—whether you want extra tomatoes, prefer greens over root veggies, or just can’t handle another zucchini (we understand).
🍅 No action needed? That’s fine too! If you’re happy with the base share, just leave it as-is and we’ll pack it up for you.
Keep in mind: Customization is available for a limited window each week, so be sure to check your email and make changes before the deadline.
How long is the CSA season?
Our season runs 16 weeks, typically starting the last week of May and wrapping up in early September.
Of course, Mother Nature has the final say, so those start and end dates may shift by a week depending on spring's mood. But don’t worry—we’ll keep you updated so you’re never left wondering when your first basket will be ready.
What’s the difference between A weeks, B weeks, and weekly shares?
Great question! We offer two pickup frequencies to fit your lifestyle:
: You pick up a share every week of the 16-week season.
: You pick up every other week. “A” and “B” just help us split the schedule evenly—if you’re an “A week” member, you’ll come during weeks 1, 3, 5, and so on. “B week” members start on week 2.
We’ll send reminders to help you remember your pickup week (no judgment—summer gets busy!).
🗓️ Not sure if you’re A or B? Check you account>subscriptions>options>view schedule, email or reach out—we’re happy to help!
What if I can’t pick up my share?
We know life gets busy—vacations, appointments, and unexpected surprises can pop up any week. Here’s what you can do if you can’t make your pickup:
1. Send a friend or neighbor
Have someone pick up your share for you. No need to notify us—just make sure they know your name and pickup location. It’s a great way to share the love (and the veggies!).
2. Donate your share
If no one can pick up your share, we’ll make sure it doesn’t go to waste. Unclaimed shares are donated to a local food pantry or a neighbor in need.
3. Plan ahead
If you know you’ll be away, you can put a hold on your share right in your account. Just log in, go to Subscriptions, and select the date range you’ll be away. You can pause one or more of your CSA items.
Don’t worry—you won’t lose that week’s value. The funds from any held shares will become available after the missed week and can be used toward future shares later in the season.
4. Biweekly members: Use your “off week”
If you’re on an A or B week schedule and need to skip a pickup, just put a hold on your regular week, then log in during your “off week” to manually build a share. You’ll see your unused funds ready to go, so you can still enjoy fresh produce—just on your own timeline.
🧺 Need help putting a share on hold or customizing during your off week? Don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!
Do you have honey, syrup, eggs and more in the winter?
While we may be closed over the winter as we await spring, we have several items in our pantry to help hold you over. We will confirm availability for orders placed during the winter. If there are items you are looking for that are not listed, please contact us.
Do you deliver to me?
Our Farmer Harvest Program that runs May to September does offer delivery to select areas. After registering on our CSA website, your zipcode will show you options is pickup is available.
